During Tuesday night's Philadelphia 76ers win over the Boston Celtics, we got to see Joel Embiid debut after waiting two long years since he was drafted. It was 948 days since he last played an organized basketball game with Kansas on March 1, 2014. While there was plenty of expected rust, Embiid got more comfortable as the game progressed and really looked solid in his return to the court following such a long rehab process. On Thursday, the Sixers host the Wizards at the Wells Fargo Center and Embiid will play, but will likely have the same minutes restriction he had on Tuesday.
Sounds like plan will be to use most of the 12 minutes available for Embiid in first half again. https://t.co/4PjmOTAgln

In 12 minutes and 57 seconds of playing time in the first half, Embiid scored six points, four on jumpers and two from the line, to go along with four rebounds, two blocks and three turnovers. He hit his first shot with just under a minute to go in the first quarter, a fadeaway 10-footer to cut the Celtics lead to 12. After he sunk that one, he also tallied a block and two more points before the first quarter ended. The jump shot he drained to end the first was just inside the three-point line.
Here are some highlights from his debut:
