The Philadelphia 76ers played their fourth preseason game on Tuesday night, but unlike the first three, this one was not able to be seen on television in Memphis or in Philadelphia…or anywhere else for that matter. It's kind of weird that you can watch as many Summer League games as you want, but not the preseason. Anyway, the Sixers lost 121-91 in a game that was actually close at one point, believe it or not.
From looking at tweets and the box score to last night's game, the Sixers showed hustle, but their shots were not really going in at all in the first half. Still, they managed to tie things up at 53 at the half before Memphis outscored them 37-13 in the third quarter, but eventually ended up losing by 30. The Sixers struggled to shoot in general, finishing the night with a 38.3 line from the floor and 69.7 percent from the free throw line in 33 attempts. Their long range game was nearly non-existent, hitting six of 23 shots compared to Memphis' 13 three's in 29 attempts.
Despite the blowout in the final score, Joel Embiid still put together a strong game against Grizzlies All-Star Marc Gasol, scoring 13 points on 3-for-7 shooting while also going 7-for-8 from the line. Embiid also had five rebounds and a block to go along with three personal fouls in 12 minutes and 45 seconds. Although the game wasn't televised, the Sixers official Twitter account got a short video of an Embiid tip-in jam.

The standout from this game was one of the later first round picks from this year's draft, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot. After struggling through the first three games of preseason action with his shot, the 24th overall pick scored 13 points on 6-for-10 shooting in just under 30 minutes played. He also led the team with nine rebounds. Gerald Henderson also had his best showing of the preseason, scoring 10 points on 3-for-5 shooting in 16 minutes and 15 seconds played. Henderson's minutes restriction was increased from 12 to 15 and it may have gotten him more settled in during the game. T.J. McConnell, Robert Covington and Jerami Grant each scored nine points. The Sixers opted to rest Dario Saric after he played the first three games.
Up next, the Sixers head to the nation's capitol for their second preseason matchup against the Wizards on Thursday. They lost the first one in double overtime at the Wells Fargo Center. That game should be available to watch or stream as CSN Washington is set to carry the contest.
