The Philadelphia 76ers have one more preseason tuneup before they open up their regular season on October 26 against Oklahoma City and the team was back at practice in Camden on Monday.
While it's been mentioned that Jahlil Okafor is expected to be ready for the opener, he has yet to participate in scrimmages during practice as the Sixers have been taking a cautious approach to his injury recovery. That changed on Monday as Okafor played in the scrimmages and was actually on the same team as Joel Embiid.

After practice, Brett Brown told reporters that there is no pain in Okafor's knee and that he and Joel Embiid could be on the court together at the end of games since they are the Sixers best scorers. Okafor had experienced pain in his injured knee when scrimmaging against Embiid on the final day of camp in September, according to Bob Cooney of the Philadelphia Daily News. He hasn't participated in the scrimmages since then.
Ben Simmons was also a topic following Monday's practice as Brett Brown said that they plan to have three focuses on education, health and shot. Simmons has been at the facility in Camden since surgery, but was in New York during today's session.
Coach Brown says Ben Simmons' rehab will have three-pronged focus:

•Health

Meanwhile, Robert Covington (migraine) and Hollis Thompson (upper respiratory infection) did not practice. Both Nerlens Noel and Jerryd Bayless remained out per the Sixers official medical update. Last week, Brett Brown said he isn't sure how long Noel will be sidelined with his groin strain. Bayless continues to deal with a sore wrist and will not be ready for the teams' first game.
