The Philadelphia 76ers got quite a scare on Friday night when rookie center Joel Embiid landed awkwardly on his left knee. He would return to the game, but was removed after landing on the same knee later on for precautionary reasons. Joel was diagnosed with a left knee contusion, but following the teams' win against Portland, he said that scans didn't show anything serious and that he felt great.
All that being said, his status for the Sixers' next two games don't look great and expect them to be extra cautious with their rookie phenom. He's officially listed as doubtful for Tuesday against the Clippers, but Brett Brown said he won't play, and he will not travel with the team for the second half of their back-to-back against Milwaukee on Wednesday. Embiid wasn't scheduled to play against the Bucks anyway due to it being a back-to-back.

If he remains out for Friday's game, it might be cause for concern. Meanwhile, although Jahlil Okafor was limited, he'll likely get the start against LA on Tuesday.
With Embiid and Okafor both nursing injuries, we may get to see some more of Richaun Holmes. He returned to the team in Atlanta and played five minutes. In six games with the Delaware 87ers, Holmes averaged 12.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. He scored 25 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked four shots in the Sevens win in Greensboro on January 20.
Going back to Embiid…he still managed to finish with a double-double on Friday, despite exiting early with his knee injury. Here are the highlights, knee injury included:
