The 21-year-old from Windermere, Florida just finished up his junior year of college, one that saw him named a First-Team All-American (outfield) by Baseball America and Second-Team All-American (utility) by Collegiate Baseball. He slashed .390/.491/.659 with 14 home runs and 56 RBIs. He ranks third all-time in UVA program history with 185 runs scored.
Haseley is a really good overall athlete, has a strong throwing arm and his defensive ability makes him a good fit for any outfield position. He has plenty of offensive tools as well, one of them being plate discipline as he walked (111) more times than he struck out (103) in his three years at Virginia. Here's MLB.com's draft profile on Haseley.
In three seasons at the University of Virigina, Haseley hit .310 and totaled 21 home runs, 46 doubles, 10 triples and 112 RBIs. During his junior year in 2017, he led the ACC in batting (.390) and on-base percentage (.491) while ranking second in runs (68). Per UVA's official profile of Haseley, he reached base safely in 57 of his 58 games, including 40 straight to end the season.
Haseley also pitched and went 7-1 with a 3.58 ERA during the 2017 season, primarily as a Sunday starter.
