It may be surprising to a few that Mychal Kendricks remains with the Eagles after an offseason filled with speculation and trade rumors. But according to the linebacker, he was on board with leaving the team.

Kendricks did see a huge reduction in his role during Jim Schwartz's first year with the team. However, he struggled to stay healthy during training camp and was stuck behind Jordan Hicks and Nigel Bradham for the majority of the season. Despite spending the first few days of training camp toiling on the second-team defense, there remains hope Kendricks can be the guy who was a big playmaker from 2013-2015.
Maybe the decision to keep Kendricks means the team is hoping to increase his role in 2017.

Smith was very disappointing during his three years with the Eagles, recording just four sacks and 12 tackles while mainly playing on special teams. The Eagles traded back to select Smith with the 26th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.
