With training camp a little less than a week away, the Sixers made a move to add a veteran to their training camp roster, with a contract that is non-guaranteed.
Sixers GM Bryan Colangelo made the decision to bring in veteran power-forward Kris Humphries to help out the team as they prepare to one of the most anticipated Sixers seasons in probably the last 20 years.
First reported by the Vertical's Shams Charania, the 32-year-old shined with the Sixers in the workouts he participated in prior to the signing.

With a 20-man roster limit to reach prior to the start of the season, Humphries will be the 19th player on the Sixers roster as of now.
Charania explained more on the Humphries situation and the likelihood that he will make the Opening Night roster for October 18, visiting the Washington Wizards.
Humphries had strong workouts for the 76ers on Monday and Tuesday, and will have an opportunity to make the team’s opening-night roster as insurance in the frontcourt. Humphries is expected to report to the 76ers on Sunday for training camp.
Humphries averaged almost five points, four boards and 35-percent 3-point shooting in 56 games for the Atlanta Hawks last season.
It was clear that the Sixers needed veteran help prior to free agency at the beginning of the summer, so they went out and signed J.J. Redick and Amir Johnson to contracts. Humphries brings an additional veteran leadership that has helped him succeed as a role player in many situations before.
If the aging Humphries needed another chance to play in the NBA, the Sixers might be the best situation right now to keep that spark going.
