The biggest update in the Markelle Fultz shoulder injury saga came late Wednesday afternoon, as reports said that the rookie point guard would be on the Sixers' road trip this week, with his workload increasing.

All signs are now pointing towards a return sooner rather than later, as he will start to practice more and get more reps.

According to Philly.com's Keith Pompey, Fultz will be "incorporated in some team drills this week." Fultz had been mostly involved with solo workouts with his player-development coach.

Fultz was drafted by the Sixers with the first overall draft pick of the 2017 draft, and is still considered to be a big part of the Sixers' offense in the future.

He played in four games this season before being sidelined with "scapular muscle imbalance and soreness" in his right shoulder back on October 24.

At the time of his injury, Fultz had been averaging six points, two rebounds, and two assists in 19 minutes per game.

Fultz was on the "re-evaluate in three weeks" regimine before this latest update, although his return to full basketball activity is still very much unknown.

Just having Markelle back out on the court with his teammates in a practice setting is a good sign that he is on track to making his return and making an impact for the Sixers this season.
