When Philadelphia Phillies president Andy MacPhail spoke about Citizens Bank Park in October, he made clear to note that it's now the oldest stadium in the National League East. When David Buck, the Phillies executive vice president, spoke briefly at Wednesday's College Winter Summit, he said that while many Phillies fans still view the stadium as new, 2018 will be its 15th season. So the team is taking steps to make the stadium the place to be in Philadelphia on a summer night again.

SportsTalkPhilly.com's Matt Rappa penned an excellent piece last weekend looking at some of the active permits that the Phillies have at Citizens Bank Park. Wednesday, Buck added some specifics on some of the renovations being done at Citizens Bank Park.

Left field, which is currently two levels, will become three levels, per Buck. The exact timetable of this isn't clear, all Buck mentioned was that the team expects stadium changes to be made over a two-year period. The one specific that Buck offered on the new layout of left field is that the middle level will have a lounge-type feel, and feature couches. Bull's BBQ is expected to be moved to left field, though it's not clear which deck it will be in.

In right field, Buck confirmed that the Phillies are building a Wiffle Ball field. He said that it will be 70 feet deep. (The Wiffle Ball, Inc. suggests a field should be 60 feet deep, for what it's worth.) MLB.com's Todd Zolecki first noted that this was a possibility last October, correctly noting that both AT&T Park and Citi Field already have Wiffle Ball fields.

Other changes that Buck alluded to were the addition of a climbing wall and a renovation to Harry the K's.

The Phillies will welcome the Miami Marlins to Citizens Bank Park on Thursday, April 5 for the 2018 home opener.
