The Philadelphia 76ers won their eighth straight game on Wednesday night against the Knicks, but Joel Embiid missed the majority of it after suffering a facial contusion early in the second quarter. He did not return. After passing initial concussion tests at the Wells Fargo Center, Embiid was taken to a local hospital for further testing.

Hopefully the hospital visit is purely precautionary, but luckily if he has to miss a few games, the Sixers have winnable games against the Hawks and the Hornets upcoming. In all likelihood, Embiid will wear a facemask upon his return.
The 7-foot-2 native of Cameroon has played in every game since the All-Star Break for the Sixers.
