In four games, Simmons led the Sixers to a 4-0 record during their current 14-game winning streak, a franchise single-season record. He also averaged 18.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game during that stretch.
Simmons is averaging 16 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists this season in a very possible Rookie of the Year campaign.
Simmons' week was highlighted by a 27/15/13 performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night, a 132-130 victory that propelled the Sixers into the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
In two games time, as the playoffs start up, we will begin to speculate who will become award-winners in all the NBA's major categories, but a weekly league award for Ben Simmons is just an exclamation point on what has been an extremely impressive first season.
