Right-hander Enyel De Los Santos dazzled in his big league debut on July 10, tossing a quality start with six strikeouts against the New York Mets en route to a winning decision.
In receiving the call-up, De Los Santos missed out appearing as the International League's starting pitcher in the Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday. It appears the right-hander will also miss out appearing on the World Roster of this Sunday's SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game as well.
De Los Santos is in Miami on standby, in case RHP Zach Eflin is unable to pitch in Sunday's first-half finale against the Marlins due to a "recurring blister issue," per The Athletic's Matt Gelb.
Replacing De Los Santos on the World Roster will be Phillies No. 2 prospect RHP Adonis Medina, according to Baseball America's JJ Cooper.
If Medina appears in the game on Sunday, it could be his last affiliated with the Phillies organization. The 21-year-old, Santo Domingo Centro, Dominican Republic, native has been discussed in trade rumors involving four-time All-Star, shortstop Manny Machado.
Medina is 8-3 with a 4.92 ERA, 1.332 WHIP and 75-26 strikeout-to-walk ratio spanning 15 starts and 71 1/3 innings this season with the High-A Clearwater Threshers.
