The Flyers took the internet by storm on Monday after announcing that their new mascot named "Gritty". Many took to Twitter to express their reactions to Gritty, often humorous. Bucks County craft brewery Broken Goblet is known to jump on a story. They are best known for "No One Likes Us, We Don't Care", a beer named after words uttered by Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce on parade day. The day after the mascot announcement, another beer makes its debut.
Broken Goblet announced Tuesday that they would release a beer entitled "Nightmare Fuel", bearing a reminiscent of a certain new mascot:
Artist Mark Salmon, who created the "No One Likes Us, We Don't Care" image that captured Kelce's likeness so well, returned for another beer.
Of course, the beer does not bear the name of the mascot and the brewery is in no way affiliated with the Philadelphia Flyers. This label happens to bear some similarities to the new mascot. The beer will be brewed with…you guessed it – orange. According to the post, the beer is set to launch on Saturday, October 13 and will be available in the taproom and in 32 oz. crowlers to go.
The "No One Likes Us, We Don't Care" beer has been a local favorite since being launched in February. Kelce himself joined for the launch event and participated in the brewing of another batch. The beer continues to be produced and 20% of in-house sales and 30% of external sales benefit Connor Barwin's Make the World Better Foundation.
Broken Goblet brewery was founded in July 2014 and is currently located at 1500 Grundy Lane in Bristol, PA. The brewery is planning to move to a new location at 2500 State Road in Bensalem by the end of 2018.
