The Philadelphia 76ers went into Monday night's game coming off of a promising one-point loss to the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite their efforts against the Cavs, the Sixers came out flat against the Jazz on Monday, losing by 25 points in a game that was never really close.
With a home-and-home upcoming against the Pacers starting in Indiana on Wednesday, the team was back in Camden this morning. Following the conclusion of practice, the Sixers announced that Joel Embiid will not travel with the team on Wednesday for their game against the Pacers. Philadelphia has a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday as well, so Embiid may only play in two of their next three games.
Practice update:

It was a known fact that Embiid would not play in both games of back-to-backs to begin the season, but this marks the second road game he'll miss in order to do individual, specialized workouts as a part of his recovery program at the teams' practice facility. Brett Brown noted the volume of games upcoming as a reason as to why Embiid won't travel.

Tom Moore of Calkins Media reports that Jahlil Okafor is probable for Wednesday's game, which means an increased role once again for Richaun Holmes, who appeared late in Monday's loss for the first time in two contests. Expect Ersan Ilyasova to also get some time at center on Wednesday.
