PHILADELPHIA — Rookies RHP Jake Thompson of the Philadelphia Phillies (64-81) and LHP Steven Brault of the Pittsburgh Pirates (70-73) will square off in the continuation of the four-game series Wednesday evening at Citizens Bank Park.

Making his first big league start in last night's 5-3 defeat, catcher Jorge Alfaro went hitless in four at-bats with two strikeouts. Right-handed starter Alec Asher surrendered two runs on four hits and three walks over six and one-third innings in the no-decision. The Phillies struck out fifteen times in the loss.

Phillies rookie outfielder Roman Quinn made his home debut in the 6-2 series opener win on Monday. Quinn is batting .571/.667/.857 so far this series with a pair of singles, doubles, walks and RBIs each. He has reached base safely in seven of his first 13 career plate appearances.

The Phillies have just 10 home games and 17 games overall remaining this season, with only four being against non-division opponents (Sept. 14-15 vs. Pirates, Sept. 20-21 vs. White Sox).
