Eagles to wear midnight green jerseys against Browns

By Tim Kelly, Sports Talk Philly editor

For the Philadelphia Eagles home-opener, the club will don their midnight green jerseys with white pants, according to Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro:

Though the white jerseys don't tend to be the jerseys of choice for most fans, the Eagles normally wear the jerseys for their first few games because they are white and it is often hot during the first few games. So this seems like a change up from the team, which seems strange considering temperatures are expected to be close to 85 degrees at kickoff.

Sunday's uniform combination is pretty far down the list of priorities for many fans, as the the game will represent the first time that rookie head coach Doug Pederson and No. 2 overall pick Carson Wentz lead the Eagles into battle in a regular season game. That said, fans tend to get superstitious with jersey combinations, so if the Eagles win, fans will likely use Twitter to attempt to force the team into wearing the midnight green jerseys again when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3. If they lose, especially if it is an ugly loss, fans will likely want to bury the midnight green jerseys for the season.

*We apologize for a previous report indicating that the Eagles would wear their white jerseys on Sunday. Eagledelphia takes seriously the need to give fans correct information and will work hard to avoid any mistakes like this in the future.
