Eagles coaches seem to be preparing for the NFL to drop the hammer on right tackle Lane Johnson in regard to the looming P.E.D. suspension reported earlier this week. On Saturday, Johnson was seen taking snaps with the second-team offensive line while Allen Barbre replaced the former Oklahoma Sooner at right tackle and rookie Isaac Seumalo was promoted to starting left guard.
Eagles clearly bracing for Lane Johnson suspension. Allen Barbre taking first team RT reps, Isaac Seumalo at LG.

After emerging victorious in the sweltering heat at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday night, the Philadelphia Eagles were practicing with shoulder pads in similar conditions on Saturday.
Among the slew of Eagles who returned from injury this morning were Jason Peters (quad), Malcolm Jenkins (hamstring), Marcus Johnson (quad), Marcus Smith (concussion), JaCorey Shepherd (hamstring) and Wendell Smallwood (quad). Meanwhile, Mychal Kendricks (hamstring), Mike Martin (knee), Jordan Matthews (knee) and Hunter Sharp (hamstring) all remain sidelined as the Eagles begin their third week of practice.
Rueben Randle has been using his premier cutting and leaping ability to his advantage against Eagles cornerbacks all camp long, and the savvy veteran continued to make defenders look unsteady on Saturday.
Eric Rowe faked out of his jock, actually fell down when Rueben Randle cut toward the sideline to make a catch. Coaches not pleased. #Eagles

Considering Nolan Carroll has played well this summer, many were surprised to see Ron Brooks listed as the No. 2 cornerback on the initial depth chart released by the Eagles. Brooks has the advantage of being familiar with defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz’s system, having played for him in Buffalo, which could be the reason he currently has the edge over Carroll. Today, Carroll was once again exceptional in his coverage of Eagles wideouts.
Nice pass breakup by Nolan Carroll. Was stride for stride with WR along the sideline, nearly came away with INT of Bradford. #Eagles

After leading Philadelphia in receptions, receiving yards and targets on Thursday night, undrafted rookie Paul Turner’s unwavering progress remains among the top storylines at the NovaCare Complex. Turner’s great hands will make Doug Pederson’s decision on whether to keep five or six receivers very difficult. If the Eagles do keep five wide receivers, the final spot will likely be between Turner and Josh Huff.
#Eagles WR Paul Turner made another nice, sliding catch. Seems like he still has coaches impressed

A few Eagles left practice early on this sultry Saturday morning. First, Ron Brooks and Brandon Brooks were seen being escorted inside by trainers, then Chris Givens went indoors after suffering an apparent shoulder injury toward the end of practice.
Rookie quarterback Carson Wentz was held out of team drills today, leaving McLeod Bethel-Thompson in charge of the third-team offense. Wentz took quite a few licks from the Buccaneers blitzing defense, including a Brian Dawkins-esque body slam from a defensive back in the fourth quarter.
Despite the sore ribs, Pederson expects his rookie quarterback to be a full participant in tomorrow afternoon’s practice at Lincoln Financial Field.
