Final: Dodgers 9, Phillies 4 ❖ Attendance: 24,259
LOS ANGELES, Ca. — Since throwing a three-hit shutout in Pittsburgh just over two weeks ago, Zach Eflin has struggled to find the form that earned him that shutout. Eflin struggled in his last two starts leading into Monday night's start in Los Angeles and the trend continued.
The Dodgers (63-49) struck for five runs in the first, more than enough to claim a 9-4 victory over the Phillies (52-62) at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers opened the game with a bang. Corey Seager hit a solo home run to right-center just two batters into the Dodgers first trip to the plate. From there, the next five Dodgers would reach base, with Adrian Gonzalez hitting an RBI single and Joc Pederson hitting a two-run double. Rob Segedin capped the five-run frame with a sacrifice fly.
In the second, Chase Utley struck against his former team, hitting a solo shot to right for his eighth home run of the season and first against the Phillies.
The Phillies scored three runs in the third with the help of some poor play from the Dodgers. After loading the bases on a fielder's choice, Tommy Joseph hit a grounder to the mound that Julio Urias threw right past catcher Yasmani Grandal. Two runs scored on the error. Cameron Rupp followed with an RBI single.
The Dodgers got the run right back in the bottom of the third, as Grandal blasted a solo shot to right, the third off Eflin on the night.
Seager was at it again in the seventh, hitting his second home run of the game and 21st of the season off Michael Mariot to extend the lead to five.
Tommy Joseph answered with a solo home run in the eighth inning, his 15th of the season. The 15 home runs are the most for a Phillies rookie since Ryan Howard hit 22 in 2005.
Pederson added an RBI double for the Dodgers in the eighth to cap the scoring.
