Sixers officially sign Ben Simmons, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to rookie deals

The Philadelphia 76ers have officially agreed to deals with the No.1 and No.24 overall picks in the NBA Draft, Ben Simmons and Timothe-Luwawu-Cabarrot. Both are expected to play in the Utah and Las Vegas Summer League games that begin July 4.

The Philadelphia 76ers announced today the team has signed Ben Simmons and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, who were selected by the Sixers with the first and 24th overall picks, respectively, in the 2016 NBA Draft. 
 
Both players will join the Sixers Summer League team and are expected to participate in both the Utah Jazz Summer League and the Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. [Sixers.com]

Simmons, the No.1 overall pick, will make $5.9 million this season. He averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this past season with LSU.  Simmons shot 56 percent from the floor, mainly with shots in the post and dunks. He became the first college player since Ron Harper in 1988 to average 19 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in college.

Luwawu, a 6-foot-6 small forward from France, 14.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists over 30.1 minutes per game for KK Mega Leks in the ABA League JTD.
