Flyers sign C Andy Miele to one-year, one-way deal

The Flyers have also added another forward to provide depth within the organization. The Flyers have signed center Andy Miele to a one-year, one-way deal. The deal is worth $600,000.

Miele rose through the ranks with the Arizona Coyotes and was a part of the Detroit Red Wings organization for the past two seasons.

With the Coyotes, Miele played just 15 games at the NHL level over three seasons, registering two assists. At the AHL level, Miele has consistently had success. Last season, Miele played 75 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins, scoring 18 goals and adding 44 assists for 62 points. He had 26 goals and 70 points in the season prior, also with Grand Rapids.

Before that, Miele played three seasons with the Portland Pirates, scoring 62 goals and registering 117 points in 209 games. 

At Miami-Ohio, Miele 141 games, scoring 60 goals and adding 100 assists for 160 points. He was the Hobey Baker Award winner in 2011.

With the Flyers, Miele is expected to serve as a potential top-line player with the Phantoms and be a call-up candidate for the Flyers.
