The Philadelphia 76ers haven't made any noise on the first day of NBA free agency, but they have bolstered their coaching staff, adding Jim O'Brien to the staff. He'll replace associate head coach Mike D'Antoni, who is the new head coach of the Houston Rockets.

O'Brien was the Sixers head coach during the 2004-05 season, leading the team to a 43-39 record. He was the last Sixers coach to have a winning record with the team. O'Brien was let go after the season.
In nine NBA seasons as head coach, O'Brien compiled a 303-327 record between the Boston Celtics, Sixers, Indiana Pacers, and Dallas Mavericks.
