The man that police believe threw a beer bottle at Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard in their 6-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on June 4 has been identified and charged, according to 6 ABC

Sidney Smith, 21, of Wilmington, Delaware, turned himself into police on Friday.

He was issued a Summary Citation for Disorderly Conduct and released.

It's not initially clear what other legal trouble that Smith will face for this incident.

Though Howard is batting just .150 in 2016 and seems to have been relegated to bench role, Smith's actions seemed to unite Phillies fans in a quest to find who committed this crime against the former National League MVP.  Witness to the incident Bryan Tracy took a picture of Smith that was widely circulated, ultimately leading to Smith's identification.   The Phillies confirmed that Tracy's picture was indeed the same person who appeared in video surveillance, and that image was much clearer than the video had.
