Earlier today, reports surfaced that Eagles running back Darren Sproles was planning to attend minicamp this week after being absent for the teams' voluntary OTA's. Fletcher Cox has also been absent to this point, likely with hopes of landing a new contract before mandatory minicamp. Today, the Eagles star defensive lineman arrived at the Novacare Complex.

Prior to Cox's arrival, head coach Doug Pederson told reporters that he expected him to be here this week for mandatory workouts with the team.

Cox is entering the fifth-year option season of his rookie contract that will pay him $7.89 million. Negotiations between the Eagles and Cox for a long-term still are still ongoing following a handful of reports over the past months that had the two sides close to a deal. Back in April, it was reported that Cox rejected a deal from the Eagles worth $60 million in guaranteed money. In February, the Eagles and Cox were reportedly working on a deal worth over $50 million guaranteed.

In four seasons, Fletcher Cox has played in 63 games, recording 22 sacks and 162 tackles. He can become a free agent after this season.
