As one of the best teams in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks are very much a rival to everyone. But there may be a little more fuel added to the fire for the Eagles trip to Seattle in November.
Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett was a guest on 710 ESPN in Seattle on Tuesday and blasted Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford.
I listened to Sam Bradford again," Bennett said. "I just almost threw up. I can't believe Sam Bradford is complaining about making $40 million in the next two years, and because he actually has to compete for a position.
This guy right here definitely sets a bad tone of what a player should be. If I was his teammate, how can you play with a guy that doesn't want to compete at a high level and feels like his position should be solidified without even putting up the stats or the wins to back that up?"
Bennett's comments come in reference to Bradford's trade request after the Eagles made a trade to acquire the second-overall pick, used to select Carson Wentz, regarded as the future at quarterback for the Eagles. Bennett is dealing with his own contract dispute in Seattle, but is not holding out from training camp.
Despite that, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has said all along that Bradford is the Eagles starter, and that was further affirmed on Tuesday when Bradford took reps with the rest of the Eagles first-team players.
Bennett also ripped Bradford last August on the same station in Seattle, referencing Bradford when talking about "mediocre quarterbacks who make a lot of money."
