Darren Sproles not at Eagles OTAs amid Trade Rumors

As the Philadelphia Eagles gathered to begin OTAs, only two players were not present.

One was defensive lineman Fletcher Cox, who has not been to any voluntary workouts amid a contract dispute. The other was running back Darren Sproles.

Sproles was apparently the subject of trade interest during the Draft, and has decided to remain with his family at home until that situation has been resolved, according to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network

Rapoport adds that there is no frustration on Sproles part, as was the case previously with Sam Bradford and remains the case with Cox, but that Sproles has chosen to stay away.

Sproles is entering his third season with the Eagles in 2016. He has combined for 646 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns as well as 775 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown in his two seasons with the Eagles over 31 games.

Sproles also has four punt-return touchdowns in his two seasons with the Eagles, totalling 952 yards on punt returns.

The Eagles currently have Ryan Mathews, Kenjon Barner and newly-drafted Wendell Smallwood on the roster at running back.
