ST. LOUIS, Mo. — A seventh straight win just wasn't in the cards for the Phillies.
The Phillies left home to open a 10-game road trip with the first of four in St. Louis. It started out well, as the Phillies and Jeremy Hellickson were in position to keep their winning ways going.
But Hellickson struggled with command and surrendered three home runs, and the Cardinals finished the night with five home runs total, as the Phillies six-game win streak was snapped with a 10-3 loss on Monday night at Busch Stadium.

After Hellickson worked out of a jam in the second, stranding two runners, the Phillies struck for three runs in the third. The Phillies loaded the bases with one out and Freddy Galvis drove in two runs with an RBI single. Maikel Franco followed with a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Odubel Herrera.
The Cardinals threatened in the second and third innings, stranding two runners in each inning. In the fourth, the Cardinals put two runners on base with no outs again. With two outs, Adam Wainwright, the opposing pitcher, made sure they weren't wasted. He blasted a 3-1 pitch from Hellickson into the second deck in left to tie the game with a three-run home run, the seventh of his career.
The Cardinals would take the lead in the sixth. Matt Adams led off the inning with a home run to left-center and was followed with a towering solo shot to left by Aledmys Diaz to make it a 5-3 game.
A single and error put another runner on base and ended Hellickson's night after 5 1/3 innings. That runner would score on an RBI single by Stephen Piscotty, making it a three-run game.
Home run derby continued in the seventh. With Brett Oberholtzer still in the game, Kolton Wong and Randal Grichuk went back-to-back for a two-run shot and a solo shot, extending the lead to six.
The Cardinals capped the scoring in the eighth with an RBI single by Brandon Moss.
