Eagles Release S Jerome Couplin

After drafting two defensive backs on Day 3 of the NFL Draft on Saturday, the Eagles made one subtraction from the roster.

Reserve defensive back Jerome Couplin was released by the Eagles on Monday.

Couplin played in eight games for the Eagles last season, recording five tackles, including four solo tackles. Couplin was used largely as a special teams player and reserve before being placed on injured reserve in November of last season.

The 24-year-old defensive back was signed by the Eagles in 2014 to the practice squad and made the team out of the preseason in 2015. Even with the release, the Eagles have 15 defensive backs on the roster at the moment.

Couplin was an undrafted free agent from William and Mary in 2014, going to the Detroit Lions, where he played in eight games in 2014.
