The Phillies unveiled a second alternate uniform this season, a red base with blue trim on their letters, numbers, and the team logo across the chest.  Besides the new jersey their home pinstripes, road gray jersey, and cream-colored alternate home day jerseys, the Phillies will appear in other uniforms in the 2016 season.  New items include specific Father's Day and Mother's Day uniforms in addition to patriotic alternate uniforms.

MLB.com reported that all of Major League Baseball will take part in the new uniform styles:

Major League Baseball today unveiled its complete lineup of special event uniforms for the 2016 Championship Season. For the first time MLB Clubs will celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day in specially designed uniforms. As in previous years, uniform designs were also created to recognize Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. In addition, new looks will be featured during the All-Star events in San Diego with special caps worn during the All-Star Game and new uniforms for Gatorade All-Star Workout Day which includes the T-Mobile Home Run Derby. MLB, Majestic and New Era worked together to create the new designs.

The Mother's Day and Father's Day uniforms will be sold for charity, the report says.

All jerseys will feature the new "Flex Base" technology that makes the jerseys lighter during the hot summer sun.  All uniforms switched to this technology in 2016.  This is an upgrade over the "Cool Base" jerseys that the team had been wearing in recent years.
