Source: Eagles believe Browns will take QB at No. 2

The Philadelphia Eagles may have to trade up to the No. 1 pick in this month's NFL Draft if they hope to have their choice of all the quarterbacks on the board.

A source close to the team has told Eagledelphia.com that the consensus in the Eagles organization is that the Cleveland Browns will take a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick, despite having recently signed Robert Griffin III and still having Josh McCown under contract.

If the Cleveland Browns do intend to select a quarterback with the No. 2 pick, that may up the desire for a team like the Eagles to attempt to trade with the Tennessee Titans for the No. 1 overall pick to block the Browns from potentially taking their desired quarterback.

A few other things are possible.

It's possible — though not something we're reporting, that the Browns do take a quarterback at No. 2, but it isn't the one that the Eagles have higher on their draft-board. For example, it's possible that the Eagles view Carson Wentz as their top target but the Browns take Jared Goff with the No. 2 overall pick (or vice versa), leaving the Eagles' top target still on the board.

It's also possible — again, not something we are reporting — that the Eagles, who have dined with both Wentz and Goff, are content with allowing the Browns to take whichever quarterback they desire with the No. 2 pick and then attempting to trade up for whichever of the two is left after the Browns make their selection.

The NFL Draft will start on April 28th.
