The Phillies bullpen has not been good through three games. Currently at 0-3, the Phillies have struggled offensively and on the relief pitching end of things. The bullpen blew a 2-1 lead on both Monday and Wednesday, with both David Hernandez and Dalier Hinojosa getting hit around by the Reds late in the game. Following Thursday's loss in Cincinnati, skipper Pete Mackanin indicated who'd get the next save opportunity when the time comes.
Jeanmar Gomez is next in line to get a save opportunity, Pete Mackanin said.

Gomez is a logical decision. He was the most consistent reliever last season for the Phillies, posting a 3.01 ERA in 74.2 innings. Gomez had a strong showing in Spring Training as well, allowing just one earned run while striking out six in six innings on the mound. He threw 37 pitches, 36 of which went for strikes. He's appeared in one game this year, pitching a scoreless inning on Opening Day.
The Phillies will look to get their first win of the season on Friday afternoon at 1:10pm when they head to Citi Field to take on the Mets for their home opener. Jerad Eickhoff will oppose Jacob DeGrom.
