The Flyers have agreed to terms with another goalie prospect. Alex Lyon, who played three seasons at Yale University, has signed an entry-level deal with the Flyers, according to GM Ron Hextall.

Lyon, 23, is a 6'1", 200-pound goaltender from Baudette, MN. This season, he was 19-8-4 with a 1.64 GAA and .936 save percentage, helping Yale reach the East Regional of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. For each of the last two seasons, Lyon has led the ECAC in GAA and save percentage.

Lyon is also a finalist for the Mike Richter Award, presented to the most outstanding goaltender in college hockey, for the second year in a row, and was also in the Top-10 as a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. In his career at Yale, he has set school records with a 1.88 GAA, .931 save percentage, 50 wins and 15 shutouts.

This is another addition to a group of goaltending prospects that is continuing to grow for the Flyers. They drafted three goaltenders — Felix Sandstrom, Matej Tomek, Ivan Fedotov — at last year's Draft and have Anthony Stolarz and Martin Ouellette playing well. They also have Harvard goaltender Merrick Madsen in the system as well.
