Flyers-Senators: Game 77 Preview
Role reversal for Flyers and Senators in late-season matchup
Kate Frese/Flyerdelphia
Separation in the standings was only temporary. As the schedule turns to Saturday, the Philadelphia Flyers (38-25-13) are in need of more points to restore any cushion in the standings.
The opponent on Saturday is an interesting one for the Flyers. Last season, it was the Ottawa Senators (36-33-9) who were riding the wave of incredible late-season success into the playoffs.
This time, the Flyers are trying to be that team and get a tough test in the Senators, one of those teams already eliminated with nothing else to play for but pride.
Faceoff between the Flyers and Senators is set for 1 p.m.

Steve Mason stood tall again on Wednesday night and this time that success carried into the shootout for a crucial two points. Mason makes his 12th start in the last 13 games and the Flyers are again looking for a crucial two points.
Andrew Hammond makes just his 22nd appearance of the season. The hotshot goalie from a season ago, so important to the Senators stretch run, has struggled this season. Hammond got a win in the season finale against the Flyers last season, but has not faced the Flyers yet this season. Hammond has just three wins in his last 10 starts.
