FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Philadelphia Phillies (14-9-3) have suffered their fourth defeat out of their last five games, as the offense produced just one run on nine hits against right-hander Steven Wright and the Boston Red Sox (12-14-0) Sunday afternoon at JetBlue Park at Fenway South.
Making his second start of the spring, Phillies right-hander Jerad Eickhoff struggled by allowing 11 hits and five runs spanning five innings of work. In nine innings combined, Eickhoff has allowed eight runs on 15 hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts.
The Phillies have just three games remaining in Florida before they head north to Reading, Pennsylvania, for the first of two Futures exhibition games starting on Thursday, March 31.

The Phillies jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, as third baseman Maikel Franco hit a one-out double—his first of the spring—to score center fielder Odubel Herrera from first base.
This would turn out to be the Phillies' only run and lead of the afternoon, however.
Back-to-back doubles from right fielder Mookie Betts and second baseman Dustin Pedroia to begin the next half-inning scored the tying run for the Red Sox. Two batters later, a ground out to second base by designated hitter David Ortiz brought home the game-winning run.
The Red Sox would add three combined insurance runs in the fourth and fifth innings, as center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. and shortstop Xander Bogaerts launched a two-run and solo home run, respectively.
