Jahlil Okafor undergoes successful surgery on right meniscus

Sixers rookie center Jahlil Okafor will miss the rest of the season after suffering a small meniscus tear in his right leg. Today, he underwent successful surgery in Florida with Dr. James Andrews and the Sixers released the following statement on their official team site:

Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure today to address a slight tear of the meniscus in his right knee.
 
The minor procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews of the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and Sixers Head Physician and Orthopedic Surgeon of the Rothman Institute at Jefferson Dr. Christopher Dodson. 
 
Okafor will begin his rehabilitation program tomorrow under the guidance of Sixers Director Of Performance Research & Development Dr. David T. Martin.
 
Okafor averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds this season for the Sixers. Philadelphia selected him third overall in the 2015 NBA draft out of Duke University.
