X-Rays on Odubel Herrera’s finger come back negative

Yesterday afternoon, Philadelphia Phillies' outfielder Odubel Herrera posted an image to the application Snapchat that showed the middle finger on his right hand wrapped and had the caption "Mi pobre dediitoo". (As our Frank Klose noted yesterday, that translates to "my poor finger".)

Herrera didn't play in today's eventual loss to the Baltimore Orioles, but Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal says that Herrera's injury isn't one that should affect him moving forward.

Montemurro also noted that manager Pete Mackanin believes that Herrera could play tomorrow. Given the rash of injuries that the Phillies have suffered so far this spring, it seems unlikely the Phillies will push Herrera and have him play tomorrow.

Herrera sustained the injury when sliding home safely in the sixth inning of the Phillies' March 6th win over the New York Yankees.

The 24-year-old is batting .391 with nine hits in 23 at-bats this spring.
