The Sixers (8-56) haven't won a game in over a month, February 6th, but it came against tonight's opponent, the Brooklyn Nets (18-46). Tonight's matchup will come just hours after the Sixers announcement of Jahlil Okafor missing the remainder of the season with a small tear in the meniscus in his right leg.
Brett Brown said Jahlil Okafor has had an "excellent" rookie season, and has seen improvement over course of year.

Losers of 13 straight games, the Sixers are coming off of a game in which they gave the Houston Rockets a run for their money, but a late fourth quarter rally came up short. After cutting the lead to two at 105-103, the Rockets went on a 9-1 run to end the game and take the 118-104 victory. Veteran guard Jason Terry led the Rockets in the final quarter, scoring seven points over the last four minutes of the game. Philadelphia stormed back from a 16-point deficit early in the fourth, but went on a 13-0 run to cut the lead to three with just over eight minutes to go. After the Sixers brought it to 105-103, Jason Terry drained two straight three-pointers to shut down the Philadelphia rally. Ish Smith scored 21 points while both Nerlens Noel and Robert Covington contributed with 17 a piece. Former Sixer KJ McDaniels, sent to Houston last season for Isaiah Canaan and a pick, scored 12 points in the game after scoring just 30 points all season before then.
The Nets, who were beaten by the Sixers on February 6th, have lost four of their last five. They are coming off of a 104-99 loss at the hands of the Atlantic division leading Raptors. After shooting just 3-for-15 from the floor before the half, the Raptors went on a 22-9 run to erase a 58-42 Nets lead at intermission. Brooklyn allowed Toronto to hit four straight three's in the opening minutes of the fourth, turning a 16 point lead at half to a 10 point deficit in the fourth. Brook Lopez scored 35 points and blocked seven shots while former Sixer Thaddeus Young had 14 points and four rebounds.
