Just one day after agreeing to send cornerback Byron Maxwell to Miami, the Eagles have signed veteran cornerback Leodis McKelvin to a two-year contract. McKelvin was released by the Bills on Friday, freeing up nearly four million in cap space.

Leodis McKelvin's two-year contract is potentially worth up to $6 million, source said. Of course, further details will reveal likely worth.

The Eagles recent corner back acquisitions haven't been great and include the likes of Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Cary Williams, Bradley Fletcher, Nolan Carroll and Byron Maxwell. While the Eagles have dished out big money to sign guys like Maxwell and Asomugha, inking McKelvin shouldn't break the bank by any means.
McKelvin, 30, has played his last eight seasons in Buffalo and new Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz was his coordinator back in 2014 with the Bills. That season saw McKelvin tally a career-high four interceptions, but it ended with him fracturing his ankle and missing the first seven games of last season.
Over eight seasons with the Bills, McKelvin has 13 interceptions, two last season, in 98 games, 60 of which were starts. Buffalo selected him in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft out of Troy University.
