The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly close to finalizing a trade with the Miami Dolphins, one that will send both Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso to Miami.
Once that trade is finalized, the Eagles may not be done making moves.
An AFC team is interested in acquiring running-back DeMarco Murray, a source close to the Eagles told Eagledelphia.com on Monday afternoon.
Murray, after winning the offensive player of the year for the Dallas Cowboys in 2014, signed a five-year free-agent contract with the Eagles. After running for over 1,800 yards in 2014, Murray ran for just 702 yards in 2015, while developing a toxic relationship with now former head-coach Chip Kelly.
Murray is scheduled to have a cap-hit of $8 million in 2016. For the Eagles to release him, they would have to take on $13 million in dead cap.
Stay tuned as we learn more.
