Earlier this week, the Philadelphia Phillies designated left-handed relief pitcher Bobby LaFromboise for assignment to make room on their 40-man roster for infielder Taylor Featherston, who they acquired in a trade from the Los Angeles Angels.
According to Jim Salisbury of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, LaFromboise made it through waivers after being designated and is headed to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Phillies announce lefty Bobby LaFromboise cleared waivers and was sent to AAA. He comes to bug league camp as nonroster player

LaFromboise, 29, was claimed off of waivers earlier this off-season after the Angels designated him for assignment.
In 27 career appearances at the big-league level between 2013 and 2015, LaFromboise has posted a 3.63 ERA while recording three holds. In 54 games at the Triple-A level in 2015, he posted a 2.98 ERA and recorded 15 holds.
While him being taken off of the 40-man roster makes it less than likely that he's on the Opening Day roster, it's very possible that LaFromboise appears at the major-league level for the Phillies in 2016.
