Philadelphia Phillies' outfielder Aaron Altherr enters the 2016 season with a chance to firmly entrench himself in the team's seemingly bright future. Altherr, after an extremely successful season at both double-a and triple-a, hit five homeruns and drove in 22 RBI's in 137 at-bats at the big-league level in 2015. He opens 2016 as a favorite to be one of the team's three starting outfielders.
The Phillies, as part of their #BackinTown campaign, had Altherr answer fan questions this afternoon on the team's Twitter account. He sure gave some interesting answers (hopefully that sarcasm was recognized).
Altherr started by saying that new New York Yankees' pitcher Aroldis Chapman is the pitcher that he fears facing the most.

Given that Chapman regularly throws his fastball over 100 miles per hour and is 6'4, that seems like a pretty fair selection.

Altherr used the chat to announce that he was changing numbers from 40, perhaps the most uninspiring number a player could wear, to number 23, likely because he wants to follow in the hallowed footsteps of Brian Schneider.
