Add in another name to the coaching candidate list.
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson is expected to be among the Eagles "leading candidates" for the vacant head coach position.
In a later update, CSN's Derrick Gunn reported the rumor to be false.
Pederson was a quarterback with the Eagles in 1999 and served as an assistant coach under Andy Reid from 2009 to 2012. He has been with the Chiefs since Reid was hired by the team in 2013.
Though the Eagles have not interviewed Pederson yet, partially because of the Chiefs upcoming trip to the playoffs, they can interview him in between the week of the Wildcard Round and Divisional Round, if the Chiefs are still in the playoffs at that time.
The Eagles coaching search has been underway since Chip Kelly's firing on Tuesday and currently involves running backs coach Duce Staley, who interviewed on Friday.
