The Flyers suffered another injury to their blue line on Saturday with Luke Schenn going down for two weeks with a lower-body injury.

With Mark Streit still out with injury and Radko Gudas serving out the remainder of his suspension, the Flyers needed to make a move.

The Flyers recalled Andrew MacDonald from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Monday.

MacDonald has one goal and 12 assists with the Phantoms in 23 games. The 29-year-old defenseman had one assist in three preseason games for the Flyers and had two goals and 10 assists in 58 games last season. He ranks fifth on the Phantoms in points and is also a plus-4.

The Flyers had sent MacDonald to the Phantoms on Oct. 6 as part of the final cuts of training camp. MacDonald spent part of the season in Lehigh Valley on the same pairing as Shayne Gostisbehere before his season debut with the Flyers on Nov. 14.

The Flyers take on MacDonald's former team, the New York Islanders, on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
