Another week of struggles for the Flyers concluded with an emotional overtime win, which, let's be honest, is the only reason this post is even possible.
It would have been impossible to come up with a selection this week if not for Saturday's game. But we have one today.
It's time once again to select our Player and Play of the Week.
Our Player of the Week is Jake Voracek. Voracek had two points in Saturday's win, including the game-winning goal in overtime for his first of the season.
Our Play of the Week goes to the pairing of Shayne Gostisbehere and Wayne Simmonds. Gostisbehere's nice move at the blue line set up the game-tying goal on Saturday, a deflection by Simmonds. It was Gostisbehere's first NHL point and Simmonds 200th point as a Flyer.
The Flyers are in action three times this week, at home against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, hosting the San Jose Sharks on Thursday and on the road against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
Player of the Week – Past Selections

October 19-25: Claude Giroux
October 26-November 1: Brayden Schenn
November 2-8: Michal Neuvirth
November 9-15: Jake Voracek
