The Sixers will get Nerlens Noel back tonight, but will still be without Robert Covington and rookie Richaun Holmes, both of whom are nursing injuries.
Covington re-aggravated his right MCL sprain on November 3rd and has missed the last five games. He scored four points on 1-for-9 shooting in the Sixers 107-100 loss to Cleveland, the game which he suffered the injury. Head coach Brett Brown tells Keith Pompey of Philly.com that the 24-year-old forward looks to return to action on Monday.
“I think Rob we are going to see in the Dallas [Mavericks] game on Monday” at home, Brown said.
Meanwhile, second round pick Richaun Holmes strained his hamstring prior to Wednesday night's game against Toronto during warmups. He's averaging 5.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per game, spanning seven contests this season. Brett Brown tells Pompey that Holmes' injury will keep him out longer than expected, perhaps up to six more games.
“I believe it’s going to be another eight-to-10 days, which might mean four to six games,” Brown said following Friday’s shootaround for that night’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Sixers are in Oklahoma City to take on Russell Westbrook and the Thunder tonight at 8PM. Check out the Sixerdelphia game preview here.
