Eagles plans at offensive line if Jason Peters can’t play

Philadelphia Eagles starting offensive tackle Jason Peters is the only offensive player to start in every game during Chip Kelly's coaching career in Philly.

For the first time in 40 games, the Eagles might have to start a game without the blindside protection of Peters, who's nickname is The Bodyguard.

Peters left Week 7's game against the Carolina Panthers with back spasms, and was unable to make a return.

When Peters went down, Matt Tobin slid over from right guard to left tackle, and Dennis Kelly was inserted into the game at right guard.

Peters practiced in a light workout on Tuesday, which was the team's first practice since returning from their Week 8 bye. However, he didn't participate in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday.

As the team prepares for a Cowboys defensive front seven, led by Greg Hardy, starting right tackle Lane Johnson has taken a number of snaps at left tackle during practice this week.

If Peters can't give it a go this week, Johnson will start at left tackle, Allen Barbre will start at left guard, Jason Kelce will be at center, Tobin will play right guard and Kelly will play at right tackle.
