The Philadelphia Eagles had their first practice on Tuesday since coming back from a Week 8 bye, and it seems that the team is in good health.
A couple of key players made a return to the practice field in a light, hour-long workout at the NovaCare Complex.
Head coach Chip Kelly said in a press conference before practice that offensive tackle Jason Peters would take the day off. Peters left Week 7's loss against the Carolina Panthers with a back spasms.
To Kelly's surprise, Peters was seen on the practice field with his helmet on doing some light workouts. Peters is the only player that didn't fully participate in practice, but the fact that he was out there is a good sign for the Eagles.
Peters has already confirmed that he will play in Week 9.
Inside linebacker Kiko Alonso also practiced on Tuesday, as he recovers from a Week 2 knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery. Alonso said that Week 9 is his target date to make a return, and he seems to be on the right path do so.
Rookie wide receiver Nelson Agholor also appeared to be ready to practice for the first time since injuring his ankle in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints.
Wide receiver Jordan Matthews reportedly suffered a hand injury at some point during the season that may have led to some of his drops this season, but he told reporters after practice that he's fine and that he won't use injuries as an excuse.
Running back Ryan Mathews injured his groin against the Panthers, but he said that he'll play on Sunday.
Linebackers DeMeco Ryans (hamstring) and Mychal Kendricks (hamstring), and defensive end Brandon Bair (groin) all practiced on Tuesday.
The Eagles hope to be fully healthy in a game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night at AT&T Stadium.
