Three games this week for the Flyers and a strong 2-1-0 week has the Flyers starting the season with a 4-2-1 record, certainly much better than previous starts.

With another week in the books, it's time to make another Player and Play of the Week selection.

Our Player of the Week is Flyers captain Claude Giroux. Giroux was a focal point of Wednesday's comeback win over the Bruins, scoring in the third period and again in overtime. Giroux also had the game-winning goal in the shootout on Saturday.

Our Play of the Week goes to Giroux as well and how can we not recognize Giroux's shootout goal on Saturday. With great hands and a dazzling move, Giroux stunned Henrik Lundqvist to put the Flyers ahead, 2-1, in the shootout.

The Flyers are in action three times this week. They will host the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night at 7 p.m. They will travel to Buffalo to face the Sabres on Friday night at 7 p.m.
