Philadelphia Eagles starting linebacker Mychal Kendricks is optimistic about playing this week against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
"I ran really well today," Kendricks told Reuben Frank of CSN Philadelphia after practice on Thursday. "Today was the day that I opened up and felt good."
Kendricks (hamstring) and Kiko Alonso (knee) both didn't practice, and are nursing injuries they sustained in Week 2.
Alonso is projected to miss the next couple of weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery.
Rookie Jordan Hicks and veteran DeMeco Ryans have played well for the Eagles at inside linebacker.
Also missing from Thursday's practice was rookie wide receiver Nelson Agholor (ankle) and defensive end Brandon Bair (groin), who is expected to miss his third consecutive game.
