Kiko Alonso talks about injured knee

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Kiko Alonso remains sidelined after suffering a left knee injury in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys

Alonso spoke about his injury in public on Thursday for the first time since he suffered the injury.

Alonso clarified that he didn't tear his ACL, which has has already done twice in his football career. He says that he felt something weird in his knee while running. It was a non-contact injury.

The Eagles starting inside linebacker recently underwent arthroscopic surgery in Florida, which was performed by Dr. James Andrews.

Alonso, who said he is week-to-week right now, had a peculiar analogy to describe the surgery.

"Just a cleaning," he said. "Like when you take your car for a cleaning."

With Mychal Kendricks also missing a good amount of time with a hamstring injury, the Eagles will likely start DeMeco Ryans and rookie Jordan Hicks against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon.
