With the Phillies having a day off, news is rather slow today when it comes to baseball in Philadelphia. That is until the Minor League Baseball announced their annual Gold Glove winners.
Two of the Phillies minor leaguers from this season were honored with Rawling Gold Glove Awards for their performance in the field. Outfielders Aaron Altherr and Cord Sandberg were two of nine players to take home the awards.

Sandberg spent the 2015 season in Lakewood while Altherr split time with Reading and Lehigh Valley before joining the big league club.
Sandberg ended the year with a .983 fielding percentage in 120 games for Class 'A' Lakewood.The 20-year-old outfielder was named the left field gold glove recipient, recording 13 assists. The Phillies selected Sandberg in the third round of the 2013 draft.
Meanwhile, Altherr, picked by the Phillies in ninth round of the 2009 draft, was perfect in 107 minor league games in the field, committing no errors in 279 chances. The current Phillies outfielder had eight assists as well. He was named as the right field award winner.
